There are a lot of great destinations to travel to in Florida, but one stands out for many reasons; Miramar Beach.
Located on the Florida Panhandle, this stunning beach location has a lot to offer for visitors and locals!
From the white sand beaches to the waterfront restaurants, and not to mention the close proximity to some of the other best locations in Florida, there are a lot of reasons to love Miramar Beach.
Whether you’re traveling with family, by yourself, or on a couples trip, this is the perfect destination for many people.
In this post, I’ll cover all of the best reasons why you should take a trip to Miramar Beach and what you can expect for your visit!
1. Location
Because there are so many great destinations in Florida to visit, choosing a location that’s within close proximity to the others is a must.
Miramar Beach is situated in a prime location on the Gulf of Mexico and is within a short drive of top vacation destinations.
Miramar Beach is located right between Destin and Panama City Beach.
To reach Destin, you’ll drive just about 15 minutes to the west. Because these locations are so close, you can easily pair them together for one trip.
Panama City Beach is another popular spot, known for its beautiful white sand beaches.
You can reach it by hopping on Highway 98 and driving east for about an hour.
Along the way, you’ll pass Seaside, which is well known for its pastel-colored homes along the beach, as well as Santa Rosa Beach.
Highway 30A also starts right in Miramar Beach. This scenic highway stretches along the Gulf Coast down to Inlet Beach.
It passes through many scenic towns and past beautiful beaches.
Staying in Miramar Beach gives you the perfect chance to take this drive!
2. Cheap Things To Do
If you’re planning a vacation to Florida but want to stick to a budget, then you’ll love all of the free activities that you can do in Miramar Beach.
One of the best things to do in Miramar Beach is relax on the beach or splash in the waves.
There are multiple beaches nearby, including a few right in town and some closer to Destin.
The Village of Baytowne Wharf is a great place to stroll through. There are shops and restaurants to check out.
You can also head over to Destin and walk the Destin Harbor Boardwalk and the HarborWalk Village.
Around the area, there are plenty of shops to stroll into, boats to watch, and views to take in.
And if you want to do something extra, there are lots of water activities going on around here!
3. Beaches
If your goal is to get in as much relaxing as possible on your vacation, you’re in luck, because there are many beaches around the Miramar Beach area!
The Miramar Beach Regional Access is right in town and allows public access to the large stretch of white sand right in Miramar Beach.
Just over in Destin, you’ll also find James Lee Park which has public access to the beach.
Right between Destin and Miramar Beach is Henderson Beach State Park, which is another great place for access to the white sand beaches of the Florida Panhandle.
And Grayton Beach is just the other direction near Seaside.
4. Shopping
If you like to shop, then you’re in for a treat! There are several malls around Miramar Beach that make for a great shopping spree.
The first is the Destin Commons, which has over 80 stores, including many popular household brands.
The Silver Sands Premium Outlets have a similar lineup of stores, but since these are outlets, the items are discounted.
Grand Boulevard is another shopping mall, with many shops and restaurants. There’s even sometimes live entertainment here!
5. Indoor And Family Activities
Need activities to keep the kids busy? There are all sorts of options, including some that are indoors for those rainy days.
Wild Willy’s Adventure Zone, Fat Daddy Arcade, and The Track are all similar family-fun places.
They have things like arcade games, go-karts, mini golf, laser tag, and more.
All of these have indoor areas, as well as spaces outside for things like go-karts.
Gator Beach at Fudpucker’s is also another fun family experience where you can see live alligators.
They have shows where you can see and learn about the gators that live at the park.
6. Waterfront Restaurants
Since Miramar Beach is found right on the Gulf Coast, there are so many opportunities to dine right on the waterfront.
A few of the best include The Whale’s Tail, Pompano Joe’s, Crab Trap, Captain Dave’s on the Gulf, Surf Hut, and Royal Palm Grille.
All of them serve seafood as well as other foods and have great views of the ocean.
Another place to find waterfront restaurants is the HarborWalk Village where there are a variety of places to eat.
Some are sit-downs while others are grab-and-go, so you can pick up lunch and eat it on the beach.
