One thing that I love about Pensacola Beach is that it’s a bit quieter than other cities on the Emerald Coast, such as Destin and Panama City Beach.
So the beaches here are a bit more untouched, especially Gulf Islands National Seashore.
However, when you’re ready for a break from Pensacola’s beaches, you need to check out the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk.
It’s set up on the Santa Rosa Sound and makes for a great time with shops, restaurants, and other things to enjoy.
Let’s explore the boardwalk!
Things To Do In Pensacola Beach Boardwalk

1. Relax At Quietwater Beach
This beach’s location on the Sound side as opposed to the Gulf of Mexico side means that the water is a lot less rough and has no ocean waves, which is perfect for your little ones to enjoy.
If you’re looking for a bigger beach with more waves, then head to Casino Beach and Pier, just a couple of blocks away.
As I mentioned, though, Quietwater Beach is a small, narrow beach so get here early for a good spot on the sand.
Once you are ready to take a break from all of the fun in the sand, walk or drive over to the Boardwalk for food and shops, which are just steps away.

2. Water Activities At The Boardwalk
Pensacola Beach is known as a nice place to get on the water and enjoy some adventures.
The most popular activities here are surfing, paddleboarding, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and boating.
And with its waterfront location, the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk offers rentals without having to travel far.

3. Have A Drink At Bamboo Willie’s
Looking for a little fun for the adults in your group?! I recommend Bamboo Willie’s.
Bamboo Willie’s Bar and Grill is one of the most famous bars around Pensacola Beach and is a great place for enjoying a drink or two with friends while taking in the beautiful scenery.
With waterfront views, a Pensacola Beach Boardwalk location, an open-air bar, and happy hour specials, it’s the perfect spot to relax and have a drink or two.
Plus, they’ve got live music and frozen drinks to keep you entertained all night long.
They host events throughout the year – from the annual Crawfish Festival to holiday celebrations.
For another bar at the boardwalk, Capt’n Fun is next door and is a bar, grille, and nightclub, and you can play sand volleyball on the beach.
You have to try the Bushwacker drink here.

4. Visit The Boardwalk Shops
Along the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk, visitors can find several shops and boutiques that sell everything from beach essentials and souvenirs to jewelry and designer clothing.
Stroll along the waterfront and check out stores like Ron Jon Surf Shop, which offers an assortment of surf gear and apparel.
There’s also Ardor Boutique, a popular boutique featuring unique home decor items, jewelry, and crafts.
Those who know me well know that I have a large sweet tooth, so one of my favorite things about the Boardwalk is going to Kilwin’s and buying some of their tasty chocolate and fudge.

5. Enjoy Waterfront Dining At The Boardwalk
There are many restaurants located along the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk and nearby.
For those looking for a quick bite and a beer, there are plenty of casual options, such as Hooters, which serves chicken wings and burgers.
Another casual stop for a quick bite is Papa’s Pizza.
If you’re looking for a nice date night spot, then I recommend Grand Marlin.
And if I’m looking for good food with a laid-back atmosphere on the waterfront, then my choice is going to be Flounders.
