Florida is one of the best vacation destinations in the country, with beautiful beaches, amazing attractions, warm weather, and plenty of fun things to do!

But a trip to the Sunshine State can also get expensive if you’re not careful.

Between hotels, rental cars, parking, restaurants, and activities, there are plenty of unexpected costs that can add up quickly.

I’ve been traveling around Florida for years, visiting places like Destin, Clearwater Beach, Miami, Key West, Naples, and many other destinations.

And one thing I’ve learned is that you don’t have to spend a fortune to have an awesome Florida vacation!

Some of my favorite places to visit are public beaches, state parks, waterfront restaurants, and smaller coastal towns that don’t cost much to explore.

However, there are also some common mistakes that can put a serious dent in your vacation budget.

In this post, we’ll look at 14 mistakes tourists make in Florida, how much they could cost you, and some easy ways to avoid them.

Note: The costs below are approximate examples of possible extra vacation expenses, not guaranteed fees. Hotel rates, rental prices, parking, and attraction costs vary depending on where and when you visit.

Final Thoughts: Enjoy Florida Without Spending a Fortune!

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to enjoy an awesome Florida vacation without breaking the bank!

From the beautiful white-sand beaches of Destin to the incredible sunsets of Clearwater Beach and the tropical atmosphere of the Florida Keys, the Sunshine State has something for everyone.

And some of the best experiences don’t require spending much money at all.

I’ve enjoyed visiting Florida’s public beaches, exploring coastal towns, finding great restaurants, and discovering fun attractions throughout the state.

My biggest recommendation is to plan ahead, compare your options, and leave a little room in your schedule for exploring.

Don’t feel like you have to book every expensive attraction or stay at the fanciest beachfront resort to have a memorable vacation.

Sometimes the best part of a Florida trip is simply relaxing on the beach, enjoying a beautiful sunset, or spending time with your family.

With a little preparation, you can avoid these common mistakes, save some money, and make the most of your next Florida adventure!
