Islamorada, Florida, is the third city as you travel through the Florida Keys from the mainland.

I recently stayed in Marathon during my visit to the Florida Keys, but spent a considerable amount of time in Islamorada, as it’s nearby and offers many fun activities.

In this article, we’ll look at some of my top recommended things to do in Islamorada, Florida.  Let’s explore!

The Florida Keys Brewing Co is a perfect place to visit in Islamorada for drinks and live music!

Florida Keys Brewing Co

One of my favorite stops in Islamorada is the Florida Keys Brewing Company!

This local brewery is known as the best in the Florida Keys and is known for its tasty craft beers and drinks.

The Florida Keys Brewery has live music to enjoy while having a drink on the outdoor patio.

Grab some food at the taco food truck and relax with these laid-back Keys vibes!

They also have an art shop in the back where you can purchase some artwork and candles.

Robbie’s Marina

Robbie’s Marina is a great place for families to visit!  We brought my girlfriend’s kids with us to the marina for a fun afternoon in Islamorada.

The highlight of Robbie’s Marina is feeding the tarpon on the docks, which is super cool, and all of the kids loved doing this.

Robbie’s Marina also has a restaurant and outdoor shops to explore.

You can stay longer and participate in watersports here, with the marina offering kayak and paddleboard rentals, as well as boat tours.

Robbie's Marina has a restaurant, shops to explore, a bar, and you can also go to the dock and feed the tarpon!

Annie's Beach isn't a great beach to spend the day laying out in the sun but it's a good beach to walk the boardwalk and be out in nature

Annie’s Beach

If you’re looking for a beach to spend the day at just relaxing on the sand, you’ll be disappointed with Annie’s Beach.

In that case, I would recommend Bahia Honda State Park in Marathon.

Annie’s Beach has a small beach area where the water is calm and shallow.

The beach is good for spotting crabs and small fish in the water, and is known for kiteboarding.

The beach is pet-friendly, and there is a really nice boardwalk for getting out in nature and enjoying the views.

There are also several pavilions along the boardwalk, where you can enjoy a picnic.

The area waters are great for kayaking and paddleboarding.

Theater of The Sea is a popular place to visit in Islamorada with a variety of animal shows and a great atmosphere for kids

Theater Of The Sea

Another perfect place for a day trip with the family in Islamorada is Theater Of The Sea!

With general admission, there are several different shows to watch.  You’ll see dolphins, parrots, and sea lions showing off their skills to the crowd of spectators.

The kids will love playing at the lagoon side beach. There are also boat rides and a tour where you’ll see marine life, including crocodiles, sea turtles, sharks, and colorful fish.

You can also upgrade and get more interactive experiences, such as swimming with dolphins, sharks, and stingrays.

Grab lunch at Papa’s Grill and bring home a souvenir from the gift shop before you leave.
