Fort Myers, located on the Gulf Coast of Florida is renowned for its historic landmarks and charming downtown, but what do visitors really come for?

They come for the breathtaking Fort Myers beaches. The beaches are famous for miles of soft, sandy shores, crystal-clear waters, and gentle Gulf breezes.

As native South Floridians, we’ve been visiting Fort Myers our whole lives and there’s nothing like the white sands of Southwest Florida.

From popular spots like Fort Myers Beach to hidden gems like Bowditch Point Park, it’s easy to see why these beaches are some of the best places and an essential destination for your getaway!

In September 2022 Fort Myers was hit by Hurricane Ian causing significant damage to several areas including the beaches.

There is a list of current beach openings on the Visit Fort Myers website
