Anna Maria Island is a barrier island just over an hour south of Tampa. Many people don’t realize it, but Anna Maria Island actually consists of 3 cities.
Bradenton Beach is on the southern end of the island, Holmes Beach in the center, and Anna Maria in the northern area.

1. Sharky's Seagrill Restaurant
Sharky’s Seagrill is one of the best seafood restaurants in Anna Maria Island, located near the center of the island and on the northern end of Bradenton Beach.
This place has become one of my favorites and I try to come here every time that I’m on the island.
Their menu specializes in prime rib, seafood, and fish. They also have a SeaGrill combo and a catch of the day.
Sharky’s buys their seafood locally and a lot of their fish comes from Key West. I recommend the Key West Grouper.
They are only open evenings for dinner.

2. The Kokonut Hut
With stunning waterfront views, good food, and live entertainment, the Kokonut Hut is definitely a restaurant in Anna Maria Island worth checking out!
You can eat sit and enjoy some drinks at the open-air bar or you can grab a table on the back patio, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
Relax at the extraordinary beach after having some food and drinks. They also have a small gift shop here, as well.
If you’re looking to eat indoors, the Gulf Drive Cafe is right next door and connected to the gift shop.

3. Wicked Cantina
Another popular place in Bradenton Beach to try is the Wicked Cantina.
Just across the street from The Kokonut Hut, Wicked Cantina is a laid-back restaurant that features burgers, tacos, and Tex Mex food.
Come here for breakfast lunch or dinner. They have happy hour from 12-5 pm every day.
Hang out inside or on their patio and enjoy some live music.
They also have a location in Sarasota.

4. Bridge Street Bistro
Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach is filled with shops, stores, bars, and activities. While here, the Bridge Street Bistro is a must-visit!
Bridge Street Bistro is one of the best seafood restaurants in Anna Maria Island, and they also specialize in steaks. They have happy hour menus and lots of choices for kids, too.
This restaurant is open for dinner only and their hours are 5- 9 pm and weekends until 10 pm.

5. Bridge Tender Inn Dockside Bar & Grille
As you continue down Bridge Street and past the shops, you’ll hit the Bridge Tender Inn, which is a lively dockside bar & grill.
This is a great place for entertainment with a sports bar, dockside grille, and live music.
Pets are welcome here on their outdoor patio, too.
Come up with your boat and have some lunch or dinner on the waterfront patio or watch some sports on one of their t.v.’s!
Being from Minnesota, the only bad thing about this bar & grille is that they are a Green Bay Packers Bar!
But seriously, the Bridge Tender Inn is one of the best restaurants to go to while in Anna Maria Island, with spectacular waterfront views.
This is another place that I always try to hit while on the island.

6. Anna Maria Oyster Bar
At the end of Bridge Street is the Bridge Street Pier with more shops. They also sell boat tours here (Paradise Boat Tours).
The Anna Maria Oyster Bar is right here on the pier, where you can enjoy some seafood dining right on the waterfront.
This restaurant has 4 locations and the one I love going to is actually off the island a few miles in Cortez.
They have a delicious oyster selection here and I like to do the Build Your Own with 3 Rockefeller, 3 Chipotle, 3 Garlic Parmesan, and 3 fried oysters.

7. Omas Pizza
If you’re not in the mood for seafood when in Anna Maria Island, then Omas Pizza may be a good choice for you!
Omas Pizza is not only pizza but they’re also an Italian restaurant and have hero sandwiches, soups, salads, spaghetti, desserts, beer, and more.

8. Coquina Beach Cafe
Coquina Gulfside Park and Beach is on the south end of Anna Maria Island. The park has playgrounds, trails, and a gift shop.
There are also grills and a picnic area here, but if you don’t want to bring your own food, you can eat at the Coquina Beach Cafe and dine right on the beach!
Coquina Beach Cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have food such as fish, tacos, burgers, and hot dogs.
You can also order ice cream or get an ice-cold beer from their tiki bar.

9. Hurricane Hanks
Located to the north of Bradenton Beach in Holmes Beach, Hurricane Hanks is a popular restaurant on Anna Maria Island.
Hurricane Hanks is a casual grill and it’s surrounded by several fun souvenir shops and stores.
This restaurant is an excellent place for burgers, pasta, seafood, and craft beers.
For starters, try their Hurricane Wings, you can get these either hot, mild, medium, teriyaki, bbq, or garlic Parmesan.
They serve food from 11:30- 9 pm and until 10 pm on weekends.
Their bar is a great place to go after a day at the beach and it’s open until 11 pm every day.

10. The Freckled Fin
Just across the street from Hurricane Hanks is the A.M.I. Plaza and The Freckled Fin Irish Pub.
They mostly have bar food here but do have a few entrees, salads, and desserts, too.
If you’re looking for nachos, wings, burgers, and pizza, this restaurant is a good choice!
The Freckled Fin is a fantastic place to go for beer and some of the best live music on the island.

11. The Feast
A bit of a hidden gem on the island and tucked away at the Island Shopping Center strip mall, The Feast is a great place to go for some gourmet food.
The Feast is casual fine dining and offers some of the best pasta dishes, salads, seafood, burgers, and steaks.
They also have a wide variety of pizza selections, as well as a large wine list and craft beers to choose from.
After you’re done eating, you can have a drink at D Coy Ducks Bar, which is a popular hangout and spot to play poker, trivia, and karaoke.
There are gift shops next door that are fun to check out, too.

12. Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe
While spending a day on the sparkling, white sands of Manatee Beach, you can grab some food at the Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe.
They are open from 8 am- 9 pm so you can get some breakfast, lunch, or dinner here while relaxing at the beach.
You can also order ice cream or grab a beer from the Bamboo Beach Bar.
The cafe has a gift shop and there are events and live music here, too.

The Ugly Grouper is about a block north of The Island Shopping Center in Holmes Beach.
Here, you can get all things Grouper! They have Grouper Tacos, Grouper Nuggets, Grouper Sandwich, Grouper Rueben, and Grouper Dinner.
If you don’t feel like eating fish, this place has lots of other options, including burgers, wings, soups, and salads.
They also have plenty of food options for the young ones on their kids’ menu.
You can check out some live music here, as well as the giant Grouper statue in the back!

If you’re looking for a great restaurant to eat before a day at the beach, visit North Shore Cafe!
North Shore Cafe is the perfect solution. This place offers a wide variety of healthy and affordable breakfast and lunch options.
They have something for everyone including coffee, tea, smoothies, avocado toast, sandwiches, acai bowls, and croissants. North Shore Cafe also serves beer, wine, and champagne.

15. Slim's Place
Slim’s Place calls itself the best sports bar on Anna Maria Island.
They are a Philly sports bar, rooting for the Philadelphia sports teams.
Slim’s Place is mostly bar food with burgers, sandwiches, wraps, pizzas, tacos, and salads.
Slim’s is a top spot to go for the weekday happy hours, food specials, and to watch your favorite teams on t.v.

16. The Sandbar
The Sandbar is one of the most popular restaurants on the island, famous for its seafood and beachfront dining.
Try their local caught fresh fish or their stuffed shrimp. They also have burgers, sandwiches, and salads if you don’t feel like seafood.
Currently, they are only serving outdoors.
The restaurant is open every day from 11 am- 10 pm except for Sundays when they open at 10 am for Sunday brunch.

17. Rod & Reel Pier
The Rod & Reel Pier is at the far north tip of the island.
From the pier, you get some of the best views of the Gulf of Mexico and the area.
For food, they have lots of seafood options, including Grouper, shrimp, and scallops.
They also have soups, salads, and sandwiches.
You can do some fishing if you want while you’re here or you can just check out the marine life in the water.
My son and I saw dolphins and lots of stingrays while we were here!
In addition, be sure to check out beautiful Bean Point while here, which is a quiet, secluded beach next to the pier.

Is Anna Maria Island Upscale?
